SpiritHorse is not a religious organization; however, we believe in a higher power and have faith in the Heavenly Father. Through gifts, grants, and donations we provide therapeutic riding and equine assisted activities. By the grace we have wonderful horses to partner with giving therapeutic riding activities.

The most recent answered prayer is the horse on the right, Dixie. Because the horse on the left is our oldest equine therapist, Pidge who is 28 years old. Pidge has been instrumental in our program specially with autistic children.

After a praying to replace our best equine therapist, we received an email out of the blue. A very nice letter from a widow describing a healthy, well trained, and kind Quarter horse mare named Dixie. She believed Dixie would be useful in our program because of the mare always willing to please her rider. We are proud to have this beautiful horse as a partner in serving our students.

Meet our equine therapists

Picture
Daisy is a strong and steady. She is head of the herd and 21 years old. When she is being ridden she teaches riders to be confident and proud by requiring them to focus and to sit up. Anyone can ride her if they have good balance. Her stride is very long with a side to side motion.  She will listen to her rider if they will complete the request.

Dixie is a registered quarter horse trained as a reining horse.   Her previous owner contacted Spirithorse by email stating she felt should donate her late husband’s horse. An interesting fact we had just prayed for a replacement horse for our oldest equine therapist, Pidge Amazingly, she looks just like Pidge! Dixie works well with students on the Autistic Spectrum.

Tommy

Picture
Tommy was donated because of his anxiety with being loaded on a trailer. He has overcome his fears through love and care!   He is a slow mover and helps nervous riders feel at easy because he wants to please and make everyone happy.

Freckles

Picture
Freckles join the herd this year.   She is our go to pony and is loving her new job and enjoys be praised.  Freckles has more "whoa than go" which means she will work best with students that may need more time to process actions.
